RARE PARTNER ROLE: A market-leading offshore firm in the British Virgin Islands is seeking to add a Corporate Partner to their team.
   
Our client is a leading offshore firm, with an established track record in the British Virgin Islands.  It is seeking to make a senior level appointment to its BVI based Corporate team. 
   
The ideal candidate will already have a significant profile in the market, at another offshore or international firm, with an established track record in banking and finance, transactions involving emerging technologies including digital assets, and experience of dealing with investment funds and regulatory issues.
   
The post-holder will be expected to generate work and develop new areas of business for the firm, under the direction of the Office Managing Partner and the Practice Group Head, and to assist in the management and development of the office.  
   
The role comes with a very strong USD$ base salary, as well as a good bonus, benefits and a comprehensive relocation package should that be required. You must be willing to relocate to the BVI for this role, if not already resident. 
   
Key responsibilities will include:
   
-Advising and representing the firms’ clients in keeping with the firm's principles on corporate related matters
   
-Representing the firm in dealings with outside law firms (both local and offshore), government representatives, agencies, and other professionals involved with the client's matters
   
-Maintaining up to date knowledge of the law, both locally and internationally as it may impact the Cayman Islands and the firm's clients
   
-Demonstrating the ability to maintain existing client relationships and to build on current relationships that attract future work and client referrals
   
-Demonstrating a consistent ability and willingness to market and engage in business development initiatives, and engage in business travel where required
   
-Delegating client work and supervising and mentoring less experienced attorneys
   
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
   
-Admitted in the BVI (or capable of being admitted in the BVI - England & Wales, Scottish or Ireland legal qualification required)
   
-Substantial experience in more than one of the following areas: banking and finance, M&A, FinTech, investment funds, capital markets, private equity, venture capital and banking and finance, and must possess an excellent academic and professional background
   
-Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
   
-Excellent communication skills
   
-Management skills and business experience
